Southern Cross University are inviting Senior students to advance their academic skills and start their university journey whilst still being at school.
This session will provide an opportunity to learn more about the Southern Cross Scholars program, including program expectations, details about each unit, and how they connect to the undergraduate courses. You’ll also hear about generous scholarship opportunities. Students and their parents are encouraged to attend to get a comprehensive overview of what’s to come.
What is the Southern Cross Scholars program?
Southern Cross Scholars is a fee-free 6-week program (running from 10th March – 18th April in 2025). It is available for Year 11 and Year 12 students and gives them the opportunity to study a university-level subject while still in school.
Successful completion of the Scholars program (and successful completion of Year 12), provides entry into most SCU undergraduate courses, plus a credit towards their chosen degree.
Students will automatically be in the running for a scholarship of up to $20,000 based on their final grade in the Scholars program.
What does the application process involve?
Students apply online via the Southern Cross Scholars webpage. Once their application is received, the student will receive a conditional offer. The conditions being the written approval from the school, and the submission of the following documents:
- Applicant Declaration Form
- Parent/Caregiver Permission Form
- A copy of their most recent school report
SCU will reach out to the students’ school for approval for the student to participate. SCU will not proceed with a student’s application if approval is not granted.
Once the supporting documents have been returned and SCU have received written consent from the students’ school, the conditions of the offer are lifted and the student will be admitted into the program.
