Budding Year 12 Filmmakers Record Foley

Earlier this week, our Year 12 Film class were out in the field recording ‘foley’. What is foley?, I hear you ask.

Foley is the reproduction of everyday sound effects that are added to films, videos, and other media in post-production to enhance audio quality. These sounds can be anything from the swishing of clothing and footsteps to squeaky doors and breaking glass. Foley sounds are used to enhance the auditory experience of the movie.

The group of budding filmmakers left the classroom, aiming the capture a range of sound effects they can use for their upcoming IA3 assessments. The recorded sounds will then also be added to a bank of SFXs that our younger grades can also utilise.

We can’t wait to see their final productions!
