Varsity College is built on Kombumerri land. In preparation for NAIDOC week, the students of 2E have been involved in a very special project under the mentoring of their classroom teacher Mrs Alexis Poidevin. They have been learning the national anthem in Yugambeh, the traditional language of the Kombumerri people. On Monday 22 June, 2E were filmed singing the national anthem in Yugambeh and in English. We look forward to sharing the end product with the community ahead of NAIDOC celebrations in November. Thank you to our Guidance Officer and Indigenous Champion Beth Mitchell for organising this cultural experience for our students and college.
