Since Term 1, Drama and Movement Society students have been working on their Junior and Intermediate DramaFest Plays.
The Junior troupe, directed by year 10 students Amelia Staerk and Lola Ernest, performed a hilarious episodic piece that highlighted the many reasons one should stay home sick from school. Our Intermediate Troupe self-directed their interpretation of Jonathan Dorf’s ‘Magic Hour’.
The students have worked tirelessly over multiple terms and many after school rehearsals to produce their award winning performances. From our Junior Troupe, Highly Commended was awarded to Phoebe Hankey, Cordelia Gasmin, Amy Francis, and Victor Joffily. In addition, the Junior Troupe received a Highly Commended for a Strong Ensemble Piece and for their Student Direction. Two students from our Intermediate Troupe received a Highly Commended; Honora Rowen-Clarke and Link Ly. They also received two Magic Moments and Link Ly received an Outstanding Actor Trophy.
Miss Burton is very proud of the hard work all students have put in, and is grateful for their contribution to the Drama and Movement Society, which will continue to showcase works at our upcoming Arts Under The Stars event.
Drama and Movement Society meets every Monday afternoon and will open its doors to new students in Term 4, with a student showcase to be presented at the end of the year.
