It has been a busy start to the term with numerous students representing the College in a variety of sports all across the country. We have had over 40 of our students make the District Athletics team and they have spent two days competing at Griffith University. Lainey Mathiske, Year 7, Anthony Lekanis, Year 8 and Kaitlin Barwick, Year 12 competed in the State Cross Country Schools titles in Toowoomba and did the College proud under trying circumstances.
Carter Armitage in Year 7 has been away with the South Coast Football team and had a very successful carnival walking away with a State Title; playing 8 games and not losing a game.
Two students have represented at National Championships – for AFL, Havana Harris in Year 7, and, for swimming, Connor Borkowski in Year 12 who won gold in the 200m freestyle, 4 X 50m relay team and silver in the 400m freestyle as well as silver in the 4 X 100 relay team.
Congratulations must also go to Kaan Karadag in Year 11 and Paris Campbell in Year 10 who have both been selected to represent Australia in the coming months. Kaan has been selected in the Australian Youth Surf Lifesaving Team and will travel to South Africa and Paris has been selected into the Australian Indigenous Under 21 Womens Oztag team.
