Last week was a huge week for all things HPE and sport at Varsity College. The college celebrated HPE Week, a week that highlights the role of Health & Physical Education in schools and communities.
The aim of HPE week was to promote the importance of HPE in the Australian Curriculum and bring attention to the importance of HPE in the learning and development of children and young people.
The focus for HPE week was ‘Get Active VC’, with daily activities organised to engage students and teachers. The week witnessed activities from golf, AFL longest kick, basketball shootout, skipping, rowing, world handball champs and the annual teachers v students volleyball challenge. In conjunction with HPE Week, our football and rugby teams also played competitions at home and away venues.
A big ‘thank you’ goes out to the PE staff for organising and coordinating the fun and engaging daily activities for our students and staff, and ‘well done’ to all the students that actively got involved in HPE week.
