Instrumental Music Success | CGEN, AHEP, SHEP

A round of applause as we congratulate seventeen of our most advanced musicians who in 2025 have represented Varsity College in ‘Creative Generation’, presented by Queensland Department of Education and/or the ‘Honours Ensemble Program’, presented by the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University. Students in both programs were selected as individuals, from many thousands of applications across Queensland.

Students involved in Creative Generation attended rehearsals in Brisbane and performed in the spectacular production, alongside other outstanding performers from State Schools across Queensland. Congratulations to Alina Pillay (Featured Vocalist), Amali Humphrey (Symphony Orchestra), Jason Mao (Symphony Orchestra) and Zhi Qing Tan (Choir).

Representing Varsity College at a National, State, or Regional level in their instrument or voice, seventeen secondary students from our Instrumental Music and Choir programs performed in the 2025 Honours Ensemble Program, presented by the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University. These students participated in an intensive large ensemble rehearsal and performance program with an esteemed conductor, and other advanced students from hundreds of schools. Congratulations to all of our selected students!
