Jollybops Science Incursion

This week, our Year 1 & Year 6 students explored the wonderful world of science, courtesy of Jollybops Science.

Students learned scientific principles behind some of the great inventions and environmental understandings of First Nations Peoples, including the science behind the returning Boomerang, the sound of the Didgeridoo (Yidaki), and discovered the amazing land-management practices through the use of fire.

Students were fascinated by the inventions of one of the great Aboriginal Scientists and leaders: David Unaipon, who can be seen on the Australian 50 Dollar note.

What a great opportunity to explore the connection between ancient wisdom and modern science!
