This week marked an exciting launch of the Year 7–9 Athlete Development Program (ADP) Golf Unit, led by legendary golf instructor Lee Harrington from the Golf School at Palm Meadows. With clubs in hand and determination in their eyes, our aspiring athletes from Year 7–9 ADP stepped onto the Varsity College oval, eager to embrace the challenge ahead.
The program offers students an engaging introduction to the world of golf, blending essential skills like hand-eye coordination, body balance, technique, visualisation and shot accuracy into each session. Week one saw a flurry of flying golf balls and energetic swings, with the girls confidently leading the way—displaying impressive accuracy and undeniable style.
With three development weeks still to come, excitement is mounting as students refine their technique and take aim at golfing greatness. Who knows? The next McIlroy or Korda might just be teeing off from our Varsity College oval this term.
