The Smith Family charity organisation is so grateful for the generous families, students and staff of our school.
Over 650 new books and new toys donated in 2019. Varsity College, we are part of a something bigger. “Wow! Wow! Wow!” the volunteers kept saying as they unloaded the van. The crate of our books and toys donated by our school community will be wrapped and distributed to those young people who are supported by The Smith Family organisation this Christmas.
The effort our school community has taken to read the notices, encourage our community, choose a present, bring it to school, take this gift to the collection spot at either the DLC on the Senior Campus or the undercover area or to Ms Boyle’s classroom is so deeply appreciated. Our generosity and kindness to others is reflected in these donations.
A special ‘thank you’ to Ms Boyle and her Year 5A class for their sterling effort to coordinate and pack the toys on the primary side, the Senior Community Pillar leaders, Ms Little and her Form Class 8E for working as a team to donate together, the Year 9 students, Sophie and Maria who helped pack the toys on the secondary side.
Young hearts showing compassion and kindness to others without any expectation is a beautiful character strength. Together we have made a difference to young people in Australia. Thank you. Merry Christmas to you all.
