Last week, our Year 6 Students were excited to receive their senior shirts for 2023, seeing them all arrive on Thursday morning wearing their attire with pride!
The Primary Campus Senior shirt is a privilege set aside for our Year 6 cohort, symbolising their final year of primary school and their role as mentors, leaders and role models to the younger year levels.
The design process began late last year with all year 6 students having the opportunity to put forth their best design.After much deliberation and discussion, the design created by year 6 student Mia Huang was successful as our 2023 design.
The shirt design of 2023 is inspired by the indigenous and Torres Strait Islander artwork. The artwork on the left of the shirt represents a pathway leading towards the ‘meeting area’ on the back of the shirt. The meeting area symbolises togetherness and community, which is what Varsity College means to me. The flower design on the shirt represents an essence of nature, the land and its beauty of which Varsity College is built on.
