During Week 4 of this term, the Year 9 Geography students went of a field excursion to the Currumbin Valley. The purpose of the excursion was to collect data on the management of the area; to ascertain how human induced change has impacted on the environment.
Including natural areas (National Parks), tourist areas (Currumbin Rockpools), and residential areas (Canal Estate). Students spent the day researching and collecting data on the landscape and landcover, right down to the macrobiotic water bugs.
The students had a fantastic day learning about our natural environment and potential ways to enjoy it sustainably.
