On Saturday March 16th, our wonderful Varsity College Acacia String Ensemble braved an early start and travelled to Brisbane for a very special performance in the iconic Old Museum Building Concert Hall. Acacia Strings were honoured to perform as the featured guests in a concert presented by the Queensland Youth Orchestras.
As part of the concert, our Acacia musicians performed a beautiful piece alone, before joining forces with one of the QYO orchestras for a performance together. Our students were fortunate to work with respected QYO conductor, Mrs Cherie Deacon, who spoke very highly of their performance and our program. QYO will visit Varsity College next term to perform for our students as part of their tour and as a world-class we thank them for their ongoing support and collaboration with our Instrumental Music Program.
