On the 17th of April, the Aspire Music, Drama and Visual Arts Students accompanied by our Aspire Arts Teachers, ventured up to Apex Camp on the Sunshine Coast. During the 3-day intensives, students collaborated to develop their discipline specific skills, engaged in group challenge activities and many questionably arranged renditions of Taylor Swift music. During the camp students were challenged to work with old friends and forge new relationships as numerous challenges forced our students to confront their artistic and personal fears.
I am pleased to say that all of the students that attended the Aspire Camp demonstrated an exceptional standard of behaviour, a wonderful zeal for creating in such a unique context and produced works that were arresting, inspiring and ultimately reflective of the spirit of our Aspire program. On behalf of the Arts staff, I would like the thank all of the students and parents for supporting this initiative and entrusting us with your students. I would also like to extend my appreciation to Ms. Burton, Ms Koris, Ms. Guastella, Mr Moodie, Mrs. Creasey, Mrs Henery and Mrs. Breedan for your efforts in supporting our community of emerging artists.
