On Tuesday December 8th, we premiere our 2020 Pillar Excellence Ceremony. Join us here from 6:30pm as we celebrate our students and their achievements throughout this challenging, but memorable year.
Prior to the big event, join our creative team as they take a peek behind the curtain to discover exactly how they bought our broadcast to life.
Our creative journey started late Term 2, upon realising that a live event would not be possible due to the current world climate. The production team then began discussing exactly how we were going to uphold the Varsity College awards night tradition in 2020.
Throughout the next term, our team began formulating what would become our broadcast event!
Fastforward to Week 2 of Term 4 where our team began the recording process. Throughout this week, we captured over 4 hours worth of musical performances.
This year has given us the opportunity to step out of our comfort zone. Allowing us to share the success of our students in a whole new way.
Our broadcast event has allowed a level of access and exposure that our students achievements just haven’t had before. For the first time ever, our community will be able to experience the evening up close and personal. All from the comfort of their own homes.

Production Week
In week 7 our team began building our ceremony set, turning our Secondary Campus Sports Centre into a production soundstage. With lighting, LED screens and other production gear we captured our students receiving the accolades they deserve.
From here, the team began the editing process, sifting through hours upon hours worth of footage. Once completed, we had created an Oscar-esque evening.
