Congratulations to Mikayla Ngo in 5C and Brandt Johnson in 6C for successfully completing an Online News Writing Course offered through the Learning Place by the Brisbane Urban Environmental Education Centre.
As part of the 16 week course, Mikayla and Brandt were immersed in the world of journalism, completing units of work and submitting a series of assignments designed to test their news writing skills. Both students performed extremely well throughout the course and I am thrilled to announce that Brandt was selected from over 600 students across Queensland to attend ‘Show Camp’ held during the Brisbane Exhibition in August. Brandt will join a group of twenty students who will stay at the Ekka for a whole week, practising the art of journalism in this real life context.
What an amazing experience this will surely be for Brandt, interviewing and writing news stories about the many colourful characters at the Show!
