Varsity College is proud to celebrate 2025 Year 12 graduate Brodie McGregor, who has signed a two-year development player contract with the Illawarra Hawks in the National Basketball League (NBL).
The exciting opportunity comes just weeks after Brodie helped the Gold Coast Rollers secure a state championship in the NBL1 competition. Playing an integral role throughout the Rollers’ championship campaign, Brodie’s performances earned him a call-up to the Illawarra Hawks’ training camp, where he impressed with his 6’8” frame, outstanding skill and strong basketball IQ.
Brodie’s basketball journey with Varsity College began in Year 6 when he joined the College’s ASPIRE Basketball program. His signing with the Hawks now sees him become the first player in the program’s history to progress to the NBL.
At just 19 years of age, it is an incredible achievement and an exciting next step for Brodie as he continues to develop his game at the professional level.
The entire Varsity College community congratulates Brodie on this outstanding achievement, and we look forward to cheering him on when the NBL season gets underway in late October.
