Celebrating National Trees Day on the Primary Campus

Such a buzz around the Primary Campus last week with some wonderful events to celebrate National Trees Day.  On Tuesday, Generation Green and Butterfly Garden Guardians were treated to a wonderful visit by Hinterland Toyota Robina. Representatives brought along their electric vehicle bZ4X and the students were able to learn about its environmental and sustainable aspects, along with experiencing sitting in the vehicle and trying out some of the special features. Students asked intriguing questions about the vehicle, and our visitors were really impressed with the enthusiasm of their interest in the vehicle and their inquiries about the emerging market of electric cars and their contribution to improving the environment.

On Friday, over 800 native trees that were donated by Division 11 Cr Dan Doran were handed out to each Varsity family. Whilst sporting their gardening gear of t-shirts, gloves and hats kindly supplied by Hinterland Toyota, Generation Green students were busy distributing these plants out to over 60 classes in the college. Hinterland Toyota staff, who are the proud sponsors of School Trees Day along with Planet Ark, and Varsity students from Prep through to Year 6, then spent some time freshening up some of our herb and garden beds. We thank all those involved in making this a great day for all students.
