Today we were so fortunate to visit the United Nations in Geneva. We had a guided tour throughout the headquarters, and the students learned about the important work of the UN. We were able to sit in the gallery for a number of sessions, one related to human rights, specifically those of young people’s right to education around the world, another on the disarmament of land mines. Students learned about the role of diplomats and delegations, and how the branches of the UN work together for the betterment of global peace and sustainability. From there we had quite the change of pace and travelled to Cailler Chocolate Factory. Students had a guided tour about the history of chocolate, before viewing the production of chocolate and then most importantly the tasting room! We then had some shopping time in Geneva, before enjoying an amazing chicken dinner in the heart of the city.
