Recently, members of Generation Green spent their time cleaning up our Secondary Campus.
Notably, they were joined by Councillor Hermann Vorster as well as staff from the Gold Coast City Council and the Tangalooma Eco-Marines. After collecting a rather vast amount of rubbish they audited it, tallying over 1000 pieces of soft plastics, 62 10cent recyclables, more than 100 pieces of compostable waste and much more.
Not surprisingly, the opportunity to get outside and do something to beautify our space with friends was an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.
Generation Green plan on continuing these events in the hopes that their data will lead to positive change.
