UNSW Global ICAS Competitions have concluded for 2019 with certificates having finally arrived for distribution in class and on assembly. This has been a challenging year with the change to direct parent payment and competitions going online for the first time in the thirty five year history of ICAS. It is satisfying to know that unlike some schools, Varsity College handled the technological demands more than capably with such generous support from our technical crew of Cliffe Bradley and Jeremy Dove.
Varsity College Primary campus surpassed Australian averages for ICAS in all subjects, in all year levels.
The recent State medal presentation ceremony was a huge cause for celebration with Mingxuan (Tony) Xia receiving the prestigious Year 5 Mathematics Medal for being the best in Queensland – a truly remarkable achievement! It was an honour to attend this event along with Tony’s mother and grandmother. We congratulate Tony and commend him for his dedication and hard work.
We also congratulate all entrants, regardless of their results, for having the courage to participate in this year’s competitions and offer our thanks to parents who followed the new processes for payment and waited patiently for results and certificates to arrive.
2020 ICAS competitions are scheduled for August to September so watch out for information in Semester 2 next year.
