On this national Close The Gap Day, we are proud to share the work of former Varsity College staff members Steve Tucker and Madeline Pugin.
As a proud Kombumerri woman, Ms Pugin was able to assist and direct Digital Technologies teacher, Mr Tucker, in developing The Kombumerri Experience.
This real world project that was announced within our community in 2021, is now being promoted by the Queensland Department of Education in line with this important date.
We extend our sincere thanks to the dedication of these educators and our involved students in the way they researched and applied their knowledge in a culturally sensitive manner. Their work now allows multiple communities easy accessibility to accurate information and knowledge sharing of our local Indigenous heritage.
