Griffith University 2024 Programs for Year 11 and 12 students

Griffith University have many programs, workshops and bootcamps for year 11 & 12 students to participate in.

Below are a list of what is on offer. Links are provided for further information.

Queensland College of Art and Design portfolio workshops  

Queensland College of Art and Design now offers the option of portfolio admission into its degrees. These workshops show students how to build a creative portfolio for admission and costs $85. They will:  

  • create a portfolio that best represents their unique creativity and skills 
  • complete at least one piece of work for their creative portfolio  
  • meet with our staff and explore our studios and facilities. 

Griffith Film School Experience Week

This five-day intensive program is tailored to current Year 11 and 12 students who want to study at the Griffith Film School. During the week-long program, participants chose a study area taught by our highly skilled, industry connected teaching team and gain useful knowledge and practical skills. Participants also complete a piece of work for their creative portfolio and get a feel for what it’s like to study at the Griffith Film School.

Experience Week costs $450 and runs between 24–28 June and 1–5 July.  

Save the Date: Griffith University’s Tertiary Education Experience Day 

A program for high school students in Years 9–12 with disabilities to check out their university options and to see our campus and its facilities. Separate information sessions for parents, guardians and carers will also be held on the day. This event is scheduled for Wednesday 21 August with more details to be announced. Participants will: 

  • tour the assistive technologies at Griffith and from external suppliers 
  • hear from current staff and students with disabilities about life at Griffith
  • explore their career paths based on their strengths and personality 
  • experience uni life with a simulated lecture. 

Griffith’s Year 12 Academic Boot Camp – Gold Coast

Griffith’s Academic Bootcamps are four-day courses run during the September school holidays and designed to help Year 12 students achieve their full academic potential in their final exams. This event will improve their confidence and understanding of senior science and math subjects, reduce anxiety around assessment and prepare students for future tertiary study.

Week one: 16–19 September. Daily from 9am–3pm.

Week two: 23–26 September 2024. Daily from 9am–3pm.

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Psychology
