This week, our Year 8 and 9 ASPIRE Visual Art Students welcomed our Artist in Residence, professional artist and educator Tamara Armstrong, for a painting on pine workshop.
Tamara brought with her a warm and inviting presence, a wealth of knowledge and experience, and the students took away a beautiful piece of work painted on pine.
Learning to manipulate shapes and leaves, where they sketched their design and imprinted it onto timber, students then selected colours to paint their work which they finalised with posca pens.
After a relaxing and engaging day of learning and painting, the students took their beautifully finished pieces home. We can’t wait to welcome Tamara back in the future to work with our students again.
