Earlier this year, our Varsity College Symphony Orchestra (VCSO) embarked on their
annual music tour, this year travelling ‘out West’ to the Darling Downs Region.
Conducted by Nicky Griffith, and accompanied by the Instrumental Music
teachers, our Symphony Orchestra gave a variety of concerts for community
members and schools in Toowoomba and Dalby. They enjoyed performing in
unique venues including the Toowoomba Sports Grounds and Queensland
Museum Cobb+Co, as well as at Dalby State School and the Toowoomba Regional
Youth Orchestra.
We thank the Toowoomba Regional Youth Orchestra for warmly welcoming our
students for a combined rehearsal and performance, and Dalby State School Band
Director, Rachael Summerville, for additionally providing a workshop for our
students on their repertoire. Congratulations to our VCSO for these performances,
and to our Instrumental Music Department for providing another exciting music
trip for our Symphony Orchestra students!
