Over the weekend 24 impressive students set out to complete in either 48 OR 96km of trekking across the span of the Gold Coast.
They set off from Mudgeeraba, heading down to Austinville, over Springbrook to the Numinbah Valley, then onto Beechmont to enter the land of the Canungra Army Barracks, before finally crossing Mount Nathan to finish at the Nerang Velodrome.
In completing this journey these individuals were supported by staff and parents over 29 hours, all in pursuit of a good cause, the Kokoda Youth Foundation. These students, along with our Brisbane teams who completed similar journeys back in June, helped raised almost $9,500. These funds support the foundation in its quest to help the youth of Australia achieve their potential and keeps alive the ideals and spirit of the Kokoda veterans.
None of these students would have finished without courage, endurance, mateship, or sacrifice and we congratulate them all for their commitment to each other and the college over the past 5 months of training for this massive task.
