Today our Varsity Viking Senior Footballers took on the Palm Beach Currumbin REDS in the Independent School Cup competition. This mornings game was a historic one for Varsity College and our Vikings as it was the first competitive football game to ever be played on our Secondary Campus Oval.
PBC were to strong on the day, taking out the win with 4 goals to 1. Quick out of the gates, PBC scored 2 early goals. Our Vikings took a little while to find their feet, but they started to make some headway towards the end of the first half.
After half time the Vikings were awarded a penalty and closed the schooling, but PBC were able to extend their lead with another 2 goals soon after.
It was great to see a competitive football game play here on our College’s fantastic pitch, even though the score did not go our way!
