Year 11 Biology students went to Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre over 3 days during Week 5. The purpose of the excursion was to conduct mandatory practicals as well as to put into practice some of the theory that students are learning this term.
The students were able to use equipment to collect data on the abiotic factors of the wet and dry sclerophyll forests as well as to use identification keys to determine the species diversity of the sampling area. The students, in spite of the voracious horse flies, were fully engaged in the process.
