This term, students in Aspire AMS Years 8-10 have all enjoyed their key excursions for the year. The Aspire AMS program embeds these events to provide students with rich, real world experiences related to the content that they are learning, as well as giving them opportunities to develop their skills in critical thinking, team work, and leadership.
In week 3, our year 8 classes went to Dreamworld to learn about ride physics, as well as collecting some real world data on a ride of their choice. Students enjoyed a presentation from a Dreamworld ride engineer who told the students some amazing facts about the rides that they would enjoy later that day. After this, the students were split into their groups to go off and collect data and observations on their group’s ride. This data will be used by the students as they prepare a presentation on their ride to deliver to the class later this term.
