Last week our Year 8 AMS classes had an amazing incursion that allowed them to experience the exciting world of forensic science. The incursion provided an opportunity for our students to build their resilience by working in teams to complete various forensic science activities.
Throughout the day, our students engaged in activities such as synthetic blood tests, micro-scoping hair samples, dusting for their own fingerprints and calculating statistics to find the criminal. These activities not only challenged our students but also allowed them to apply their scientific knowledge in a practical and engaging way.
This incursion was an excellent opportunity for our students to develop important skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail. Our Year 8 students thoroughly enjoyed the day and gained a unique insight into what it’s like to be a forensic scientist.
A large thank you to Ms. Anthony and Mr. Fraraccio for organising this incursion and for providing our students with such an exciting and valuable learning experience.
