Yesterday, our Instrumental Music program welcomed back the highly respected musician and band pedagogue, Mr Clint Allen, to lead a full day of intensive ensemble workshops for our Secondary Band Program students. Mr Allen worked with our Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band and Big Band, to develop a more in depth understanding of technical and musical elements relevant to their current repertoire.
Mr Allen is the director of the University of Queensland Big Band, plays trumpet in ARIA award winning group The Resin Dogs and is a Churchill Fellow recipient. This was Mr Allen’s second visit to Varsity College, and we thank him for returning to further share his expertise and enthusiasm for musical excellence with our students!
