Our Year 7 Future Performers have been nominated for a National Award and will perform at the Wakakirri National Showcase at the Logan Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, 8 September, where they will compete for the coveted National Story-Dance Award.
Wakakirri is a national story-dance festival that celebrates original student storytelling through movement and dance. This year, in response to the theme “Guardians of Us,” our students created a powerful performance about Steve Irwin and the legacy he continues to leave through his family and the work of Wildlife Warriors. Their story celebrates his enduring role as a guardian of our environment. As we mark 20 years since Steve Irwin’s passing on 4 September 2006, his message of conservation and passion for protecting wildlife remains as relevant and inspiring as ever.
Being selected for the National Showcase is an incredible achievement, and we are immensely proud of the dedication, creativity, and talent our students have shown throughout this journey!
Please join us in wishing our Year 7 Future Performers the very best for the National Final next Tuesday!
Chookas!
