Queensland Mental Health Week

Varsity College is proud to add our voice to those raising awareness for mental health this Queensland Mental Health Week (9-17 October)!

Everyone has mental health, and we can all benefit from taking time to engage in activities that boost our mental wellbeing. That’s why the theme for #QMHW is ‘Take time – for mental health’.

Students this week participated in activities around the five basic principals of Mental Health Week –

Get Healthy, Keep Learning, Show Kindness, Connect More, Take Notice and Embrace Nature.

The primary campus enjoyed Toasty Tuesday with our Partners in Education, The Robina Lions Club, connecting with our community and starting the day with a hearty breakfast, before taking time to be mindful and engage with concepts this week brings to the forefront.

Although the staff/student football match was halted by rain, our students on the secondary campus were able to connect, take notice and embrace nature enjoying a BBQ, hosted by Generation Green, with proceeds heading to help the conservation initiatives at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.

We encourage all of our students and families to take time for your mental health and enjoy the benefits positive mental health can have on our lives.
