Last week Year 7 ASPIRE AMS students spent a day constructing and testing their carnival games for the upcoming “THE HOUSE ALWAYS WINS” Carnival with the incoming 2023 Year 7 ASPIRE AMS students on their transition day in Week 9.
The students are very eager to challenge the year 6 students later in the term, and to see who can make the most profit of VC Bucks by making their games appealing to the ‘customers’ and profitable.
While constructing their games, students needed to use their understanding of probability to ensure that the odds are always in the “House’s” favour. Our students have therefore learnt about the dangers of gambling and have a newfound critical perspective on this important social issue.
